GSYC TEAM 2007
DASHES AND NOTES FROM THE COMMODORE
re: The Newark Bears Game
Wednesday, August 29,2007
A full red blood moon rose over the New York
City Skyline as the Garden State Yacht Club members and their kids and
grandkids entered Riverside Stadium on Wednesday Evening, August 29th.
The Stone, Unger, Rosenfeld, Kaufman, Tuber and Dashosh families were
there to root for the home team.
As the National Anthem was sung our kids were
standing in the field alongside each player they were assigned and as
the familiar words,"Play Ball" was shouted, the loudspeaker in the
stadium thanked the Garden State Yacht Club kids for participating.
Our kids were also able to have their balls autographed by the players
But that wasn't all.
During breaks in the game our kid were brought
on the field to play games for prizes. The Stone's grandkids, Allie
and Kate each won ipods after they rolled a huge dice and their
grandson, Mark caught a fly ball in the stands.

dinners from Applebees.

The Some grandkids had a horse race on the

The Unger's granddaughter Ryan, won a prize
pack from Commerce Bank by beating a TV shell game, selecting the
correct shell. She and her friend Lily also led the crowd in dancing
to YMCA.

A great time was had by all and hopefully
next year more of our members will come out and Play Ball!!!
Thank you Mike and Sandy Unger for getting us
tickets and organizing a fabulous evening.
