Policies & Procedures

 

 

CLUB POLICIES

 

  1. THE ENTIRE CLUB HOUSE IS A NO SMOKING AREA, INCLUDING THE DECK.
  2. Only catering personnel are allowed behind the bar or in the kitchen.
  3. NO LIQUOR may be consumed by anyone under the age of 21 years.
  4. DURING THE SEASON NO FOOD OR DRINK, other then that provided by the club caterer, shall be consumed on the club premises, except at the lakefront area, unless the caterer declines. The caterer, by contract, has the right of first refusal.
  5. Dress at the club is subject to the discretion of the Commodore.
  6. Wet bathing suits are not permitted in the clubhouse. Dry cover-ups and footwear are required. Change of dress is permitted in the locker rooms only.
  7. Pets are not permitted at any time.
  8. Party and or dinner reservations cancelled less then 24 hours prior to the function will be subject to full charge.
  9. Intimate baby care must be limited to either the bathrooms or locker rooms.
  10. Solicitation or use of the GSYC membership list for anything other than a club activity is strictly FORBIDDEN.
  11. PARKING is allowed only on GSYC property. In an agreement with the town and the neighbors, parking is not allowed on Pt. Pleasant Road (the street).  Parking in marked fire lanes is prohibited.

 

GUEST POLICIES

 

During the season from Memorial Day to Labor Day a guest is defined as any person who is not a member or an employee of the club.

A.    A Guest may only visit the club twice during the summer season. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the Board of Governors. Former members are subject to the guest rule of 2 times per season. The Commodore’s Ball is not an exception.

B.     The use of the pool, pool area, tennis courts, club house grounds, the locker room and dinner at the club defines a guest usage.

C.    Single children and single parents of members in good standing are considered to be members of the club, not subject to the guest attendance limits, and are permitted total use of the club.  No guest fees will be charged.

D.    Married children of members in good standing are not limited in the number of times that they can attend the club; however, they will have to pay normal guest fees.

E.     Guest fees are $5.00 per person. Those guests that come for dinner are not subject to a guest fee charge. Grandchildren of members in good standing are not charged a guest fee. No guest fees will be charged to families that attend picnics or any other club family event.

F.     Members are responsible for the conduct of their children, their grandchildren and their guests.

G.    The lakefront area is not subject to guest policies.

 

POOL POLICIES

 

  1. No one may enter the pool without the presence of one of the certified lifeguards who are employed by the GSYC.
  2. No unattended children are allowed in the pool area.
  3. Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the pool.
  4. No glass containers or food is allowed in the pool area.
  5. No running, pushing or rough play is allowed in the pool area.
  6. NO SMOKING IN THE POOL AREA.
  7. Children using the pool slide must be attended by a parent or grandparent.
  8. Changing of clothes and bathing suits is allowed only in the locker rooms.
  9. No changing of diapers in the pool area.
  10. Children who are not toilet trained are allowed in the pool as long as they are wearing “swimmie” diapers that have a cover.

 

DOCK, LAKEFRONT,  TRAM AND BOATING POLICIES

 

  1. NO PARKING AT DOCK AREA on weekend and holidays, except by special permission from the Commodore.
  2. No child under the age of 10 is allowed on the docks without a life jacket.
  3. Boat docking arrangements must be made with the Dock Committee.
  4. Boats over the size of 24 feet in length must be approved for docking by the Board of Governors.
  5. Boats shall be operated slowly and safely, without a wake, in the dock area.
  6. Copies of Insurance certificates for the boats must be filed with the dock committee.
  7. Children, 13 years and younger, are not permitted on the Tram without an adult.
  8. Visitor slips for members who live on the Lake are available as long as there are slips that are not rented. The cost of the visitor slips is 50% of the dock slip fee.

 

TENNIS COURT POLICIES

 

  1. Doubles must be played during “primetime” (weekend and holidays) unless there is no one waiting to use the courts.
  2. Courts may be reserved for one hour only.
  3. All players must be listed when reserving courts.
  4. No reservations may be made prior to day of play, except in the case of club sponsored tournaments.
  5. A club sponsored tournament may only use one court. The other court must be made available for use by members not in the tournament. If the open court is not reserved, then the court may be used for the tournament.
  6. Proper tennis footwear is to be worn at all times on the tennis courts.
  7. If courts are not claimed by players within 10 minutes of the reserved time, then the time is forfeited.
