GSYC TEAM 2007
DASHES AND NOTES FROM THE COMMODORE - JUNE 25, 2007
The Friday, June 22 "Wine Hors D'oeuvres and More" Party was well attended and lasted until 11:30 with many of our members playing canasta and bridge. We thank the Schlossers for their hard work in planning and hosting the event. We also thank Ed Blickstein, our Wine Steward, for his fine selections of white and red wines. Because of this huge success on Friday, July 20, we are having a similar event. This party will have a full selection of wine, beer and liquor on Tab.

Saturday, June 23 was an evening with the music of Billy Joel. Our entertainer, Jim Nuzzo gave a fabulous performance that had us all clapping hard and singing along. It sounded as if Billy Joel himself was at the GSYC. What a night! We thank Sue and Phil Stein for hosting the event.
Sunday afternoon, June 24, was our New Membership Open House. The membership committee, headed by Steve and Linda Berger, provided grilled hot dogs and hamburgers at the dock. We had several families that attended who expressed great interest in joining our club. Thanks to the entire membership committee for their tireless efforts.

We had over 40 people attend the Sunday afternoon BBQ. We would like to see every member partake of this Sunday event but please please please you must remember to sign up by 3 PM so that there will be enough food for everyone. In order to encourage greater participation of our members, their families and friends, Rick has agreed that children 0-5 are free and 6-15 are half price.

I am very proud to announce that Phil Amsterdam received an honorary Doctor of Law Degree from George Washington University Law School. It was given to him yesterday at the 21 Club in NYC.
