DASHES
AND NOTES FROM THE COMMODORE
JULY 4,
2007
Friday, June 29, brought a small but
enthusiastic crowd to the club as we danced to DJ Peach at the Chinese
Buffet Dinner. Thank you Gail Amsterdam for taking reservations.
Saturday, June 30, was our Nautical Ball
hosted by the Stones and the Felzenbergs. The club was decorated in red
white and blue as befitting our country's birthday and as part of
our patriotic celebration we danced to and sang songs celebrating
America. A great time was had by all! Thank you Stones and Felzenbergs!
Sunday, July 1, was warm and sunny and we had
a fabulous BBQ around the pool. Over 50 members and their guests partook
of Rick's great food.
Tuesday evening, July 3, was a clear and
perfect night for fireworks. We had a buffet dinner in the dining room
before our members embarked on their boats to be part of the sparkling
parade watching the fireworks. Some members stayed on our deck where
we had a great view as the sky over the lake was lit over and over. Afterwards
over 50 people came back to the clubhouse for dessert. It was great
seeing Max and Ellie Cohen, Larry and Rona Berg and Phil and Gail
Amsterdam enjoying themselves this holiday eve.
Today, July 4, 2007, we had an indoor picnic
due to a rainstorm. But our members were enthusiastic and over 77 of us
had a great time. Thank you Sharon and Joe Heier for hosting today's
picnic.
A new feature we will begin at our club
on this coming Saturday, July 7, 2007, will be a limited menu served
between the hours of 5 PM and 6:30 PM to accommodate our young families
with children. They can partake of a meal on our deck during these hours
prepared by our chef Rick.
Coming Attractions:
Friday, July 6, back by popular demand, is
Dan Kingman. Dan was our fabulous Karaoke DJ last month. This time he
will be performing for us. Call the Reilings to make a reservation at:
973/ 366- 6102. Don't miss it.
Saturday, July 7, to culminate our week of
celebrating our country's birthday, is CROSSING DELANCEY STREET - The
Immigrant Experience. Call the Epsteins (973/601-1947) or the
Mandelbaums (973/663-6667).
Stay well. We are in the midst of a wonderful
summer season.
