Hank has done his research and we now have the definitive answer for getting rid of the geese on the docks.
Hank originally had it half right when he was told to buy the coyote. What he needed was a coyote who peed. Yes, that is correct, peed. Since his coyote didn't pee, we now know that the geese stole it.
We are researching and looking to buy this product:
From a very high source in the Morris County Animal Husbandry Department, a guest at the club Saturday night, we were told this top secret: "Geese do not like Male Coyote piss." However, we do not have a budget for this and it is very expensive.
(you try and extract urine from a pissed off male coyote and you will know why it is so expensive)
We have been told of a cheaper, alternative method. "Geese don't like any male pee." So here is what I propose. Next Friday night all of the males in the club are to go to sleep early. When you get your "call in the middle of the night", don't answer. Hold it in and store it. We will all go up to the club early Saturday morning around 8am (so as not to prolong the pain) and have a "mass pee on the dock ritual". (make sure you wear your galoushes)
Only one problem...
This doesn't work on the seagulls. We have to now work up another creative method for them.
I just can't wait to hear what that is.
(you can't make this stuff up!!!)

Announcements:
The Board today filled the Rear Commodore vacancy. Mike Unger  was  selected to fill out the 2006 term. Congratulations to Mike and thank you for stepping up ...again

The Board today, approved a proposal to convert the Kamine/Unger cottages into a storage facility. Because of the mold and mildew problems and the cost to rectify the problem, the garage/cottage would have a better use as storage, which we have a lack of.
PC Hank Steinman will be drawing up a plan to remove some walls and open up the facility. PC Eli Gaynor will oversee a commercial clean up of the cottage to kill whatever mold and mildew that exists. Exhaust fans will be installed. This will be a minor cost and the work will be performed by members of the club.

The kids/recreation cottage will be cleaned out and maintained in its current condition, until it is determined what the facility will be used for. Once we determine its use then plans will be made to make the facility useable.

The committee that was formed to study the different membership classifications made recommendations to the Board today. These were not voted on and were tabled until the next Board meeting, to be held
August 6th.
The committee was composed of PC Steve Berger; PC Lowell Harwood; PC Justin Stone and PC Charley Tabak.
The Proposals are as follows:
1.  The current dues structure for the under 50 year old and over 50 years old new members will continue unchanged for the present.
2. The present legacy-eligible membership program will be suspended on December 31, 2006. On or after January 1, 2007, any new member joining the GSYC will do so either on the under 50 year old or the over 50 year old program.
3. The rules for joining through the legacy membership will remain in effect until December 31, 2007 at which time they will be reevaluated as to financial structure eg dues, etc.
4. Every member of the club shares in ownership of the club in a percentage equal to the percent of that member's stock purchase on the previous May 15;e.g: if on April 1 of a given year, a member had paid for 75% of his stock obligation by May 15 of the previous year, then that member will own 75% of a full share in the club on that April 1.

These are the proposals as presented to the Board. If you have any questions or recommendations, please seek out a Board member (The list is in your book) and let he or she be made aware of your feelings.
