GSYC TEAM 2007

DASHES AND NOTES FROM THE COMMODORE

AUGUST 12, 2007

This afternoon, Sunday, August 12, a special meeting of the Stockholders of the GSYC approved the finance committee's recommendation regarding the refinance of our mortgage by Skylands Community Bank for $ 450,000 at an interest rate of 6% per annum for 5 years with a 25 year payout. The additional $150,000 realized above and beyond our current mortgage will be used to purchase CDs and will be available to the club for capital improvements and maintenance projects. Except for title insurance, which should cost no more than a few hundred dollars, there will be no closing costs involved.

This past Friday, August 10, was a wonderful family dinner and the showing of the DVD of Smokey Joe's Cafe. Thank you Elaine and Hershel Arenberg for hosting the evening and thank you Miriam and Gabe Torok for lending us the DVD.

Saturday, August 11, we were treated to a spectacular Cabaret hosted by Phyllis and Arthur Meranus and Beverly and Danny Hurwit. THE JERSEY BOYS were a fun group and wonderfully entertaining. Thank you to the Meranus' and the Hurwits for all their hard work which inspired over 110 people to attend the event.
